Your Voice Matters

Oregon is creating a new CTE State Plan and would love your input.  Please watch this introductory video and prepare to share your views on Oregon’s new CTE State Plan and share this invite with your colleagues and constituents.
Career Technical Education (CTE) positively affects thousands of youth and adults each year giving them skills to apply their knowledge in ways that build Oregon’s economy and communities. Oregon is creating a new CTE State Plan to drive our work over the next four years to achieve our vision.
Oregon will reimagine and transform learner experiences in order to enhance their future prospects, empower their communities, and build equity in an inclusive, sustainable, innovation-based economy.
Your input is needed. We have been developing draft goals and an outline of Oregon’s CTE State Plan with stakeholders for the past seven months. Now, we need your input and feedback to strengthen our plan. Please review our vision and goals for the next four years and provide your feedback through either the online survey or listening session. Draft goals for the CTE State Plan are available on the Oregon Educator Network. Thank you for your commitment to providing quality equitable Career and Technical Education in Oregon. Together, we can improve and expand our system for career and technical education and achieve our vision.
How to Share Your Voice
Start with the Overview of the CTE State Plan. Next, anywhere you see the CTE State Plan Feedback link to share your voice in this critical work. As you finish one topic, feel free to review another. You may review any and all topics that fall within your interests. We want to hear what you have to say. Our CTE State Plan will be better if everyone has a voice in its development.

LEAP Results Important Dates LEAP Results FIRST Robotics Teams do more than just build robots. In an intense week-long competition, PNW FRC teams designed and presented ideas to create a new vision for OMSI and the Center For Innovation in order to attract and educate teens in STEM. The LEAP (Linking Engineering and Philanthropy) competition was organized by Team 1540, hosted by OMSI, and prizes provided by Autodesk. FRC Team 4488 Shockwave from Glencoe High School, in Hillsboro, was awarded the 1st place prize and $4000. Their winning proposal was entitled Escape Hall and was a multi-part escape room with the theme of Engineering Through Time . Team 4488 detailed the concept and designed a series of challenges for each of the rooms that combines the fun of team challenges while advancing STEM concepts and how they have progressed through time. We hope you are enjoying your sunshine!  You may be adjusting to a new way of doing school now that Kate Brown has closed schools for the remainder of the school year.  While our society adjusts and limits how we can interact with one another, we hope your team is still finding ways to stay well, connect with your team and communities to support them during this pandemic.   Evaluation Report   ORTOP completed an evaluation report to measure the ways FIRST impacts our youth participants.  We are committed to continuing this work into the future.  Teams are encouraged to use this tool in your work, both to prove the impact of the program and to suggest ways ORTOP can improve our approach.  Stay Connected with us!   All our lives have changed quite drastically over the past month!  As we all practice social distancing, we want to find a way to stay connected with each other.
