Volunteer at a local FIRST tournament


With our FIRST LEGO League season two short weeks away, we are requesting help staffing these specific tournaments: Hill High, McMinnville, Concordia College, Medford, Roseburg, Grants Pass and Corvallis.  Teams have worked hard to prepare for their tournament and we can not run them without the support from our volunteers!  View the event schedules here:

Give Guide


We are now $3,170 closer to our $10,000 goal. We have many people "Doing Good!" in our robotics community.  Thank you to the supporters that are keeping us on track with our first year GIVE! Guide campaign!

GIVE! Reminder - on November 21st:  $10 or more You Could Win:  Two tickets with parking to the Portland Trail Blazers vs. Minnesota (12/21/2019) game, two tickets with parking to the Trail Blazers vs. Milwaukie (01/11/2020), and a basketball signed by the entire team!

 The Future of Design
Monday, December 16th 5:45-9:00pm.  An evening with Portland Community College, Autodesk, and the community. Join us as we explore the tech and connections that are opening opportunities for education, employment and personal growth with design software.

This event is for anyone that is interested in classes at PCC for 3D design and engineering, as well as the collaborations between PCC and Autodesk. RSVP here.

BunnyBots 2019
 December 21st 8-5pm @ Catlin Gabel.  THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT.  24 teams are registered to compete in this years game.  The seating is limited but open to the public.

LEAP Results Important Dates LEAP Results FIRST Robotics Teams do more than just build robots. In an intense week-long competition, PNW FRC teams designed and presented ideas to create a new vision for OMSI and the Center For Innovation in order to attract and educate teens in STEM. The LEAP (Linking Engineering and Philanthropy) competition was organized by Team 1540, hosted by OMSI, and prizes provided by Autodesk. FRC Team 4488 Shockwave from Glencoe High School, in Hillsboro, was awarded the 1st place prize and $4000. Their winning proposal was entitled Escape Hall and was a multi-part escape room with the theme of Engineering Through Time . Team 4488 detailed the concept and designed a series of challenges for each of the rooms that combines the fun of team challenges while advancing STEM concepts and how they have progressed through time. We hope you are enjoying your sunshine!  You may be adjusting to a new way of doing school now that Kate Brown has closed schools for the remainder of the school year.  While our society adjusts and limits how we can interact with one another, we hope your team is still finding ways to stay well, connect with your team and communities to support them during this pandemic.   Evaluation Report   ORTOP completed an evaluation report to measure the ways FIRST impacts our youth participants.  We are committed to continuing this work into the future.  Teams are encouraged to use this tool in your work, both to prove the impact of the program and to suggest ways ORTOP can improve our approach.  Stay Connected with us!   All our lives have changed quite drastically over the past month!  As we all practice social distancing, we want to find a way to stay connected with each other.
