1. First Chance 

 It is not to late to join us!  Your team can still join the fun.  Do you have new drivers who need some practice before BunnyBots on December 21st?  Other new team members who want to see what a tournament will look like?  This is for you!

 2.  FIRST Fair Presentations 

 Thanks to our fabulous presenters we can now share part of what was done at FIRST Fair last weekend.  This folder is being provided as a resource to help teams remember and reference the concepts and skills they learned at FIRST Fair.  Don't see the session you attended?  Contact me and I will get you in contact with the presenter. debbie-kerr@ortop.org

 We would appreciate your feedback!  If you attended FIRST Fair tell us what was most valuable about the day.  If you did not attend because of classes not offered, tell us what you would like to see next year.  Are you interested in teaching a class?  This is the time to tell us!  Do you want to be considered for the planning committee?  We will meet virtually beginning in May 2020.

4.  Kick-off 

Teams, Kick-off registration is now open.  Only half of you have selected your preference kick-off location.  Please log-in to your team dashboard to select your preference.  To receive your kit of parts on time without paying additional for shipping, you need to register for a kickoff.

LEAP Results Important Dates LEAP Results FIRST Robotics Teams do more than just build robots. In an intense week-long competition, PNW FRC teams designed and presented ideas to create a new vision for OMSI and the Center For Innovation in order to attract and educate teens in STEM. The LEAP (Linking Engineering and Philanthropy) competition was organized by Team 1540, hosted by OMSI, and prizes provided by Autodesk. FRC Team 4488 Shockwave from Glencoe High School, in Hillsboro, was awarded the 1st place prize and $4000. Their winning proposal was entitled Escape Hall and was a multi-part escape room with the theme of Engineering Through Time . Team 4488 detailed the concept and designed a series of challenges for each of the rooms that combines the fun of team challenges while advancing STEM concepts and how they have progressed through time. We hope you are enjoying your sunshine!  You may be adjusting to a new way of doing school now that Kate Brown has closed schools for the remainder of the school year.  While our society adjusts and limits how we can interact with one another, we hope your team is still finding ways to stay well, connect with your team and communities to support them during this pandemic.   Evaluation Report   ORTOP completed an evaluation report to measure the ways FIRST impacts our youth participants.  We are committed to continuing this work into the future.  Teams are encouraged to use this tool in your work, both to prove the impact of the program and to suggest ways ORTOP can improve our approach.  Stay Connected with us!   All our lives have changed quite drastically over the past month!  As we all practice social distancing, we want to find a way to stay connected with each other.
