Oregon Department of Education Grant
The application link is now open for teams to apply for a grant through the Oregon Department of Education for the 2018-2019 season.  If you are applying for more than one program you can find the links on our website.

CELEBRATE the end of the Robotics season with us!

Family Science Night at OMSI
see Robot Revolution, a special traveling exhibit and other exhibits at OMSI

In the near future, robots will become our companions and colleagues – changing the way we play, live, and work together. Come see the coolest robots ever assembled inside Robot Revolution, supported by Google.org.       OMSI’s presentation of Robot Revolution is supported by local presenting sponsors Mentor Graphics and U.S. Bank

Team Members, Coaches, Mentors, Alumni, Volunteers, Sponsors, Friends and Family Supporters
are invited to join in our  season celebration!
As this is a private event, tickets are required. Click here to request tickets and print them to bring.
This event is free admission, but to continue to offer FIRST programs to ALL students, we need your help.
When you download your tickets, please consider making a optional donation to ORTOP
to help us continue training, outreach, student support and expansion.
Suggested donation: $5-$20

Girls Generation Registration OPEN  

Is your team already planning your Fall events?  Make sure to add attendance at Girls Gen to your calendar.  Your team can register to attend as well as apply for a grant sponsored by FIRST Tech Federal Credit Union.

If your team will be traveling to attend this event overnight housing can be arranged through OMSI.  Contact Nate Lesiuk for details.
 Outreach

If your team or individual students would like to participate in summer outreach opportunities through ORTOP at companies throughout the Portland/Metro area please fill out this
form. These events will happen in (June, July, August and September).

LEAP Results Important Dates LEAP Results FIRST Robotics Teams do more than just build robots. In an intense week-long competition, PNW FRC teams designed and presented ideas to create a new vision for OMSI and the Center For Innovation in order to attract and educate teens in STEM. The LEAP (Linking Engineering and Philanthropy) competition was organized by Team 1540, hosted by OMSI, and prizes provided by Autodesk. FRC Team 4488 Shockwave from Glencoe High School, in Hillsboro, was awarded the 1st place prize and $4000. Their winning proposal was entitled Escape Hall and was a multi-part escape room with the theme of Engineering Through Time . Team 4488 detailed the concept and designed a series of challenges for each of the rooms that combines the fun of team challenges while advancing STEM concepts and how they have progressed through time. We hope you are enjoying your sunshine!  You may be adjusting to a new way of doing school now that Kate Brown has closed schools for the remainder of the school year.  While our society adjusts and limits how we can interact with one another, we hope your team is still finding ways to stay well, connect with your team and communities to support them during this pandemic.   Evaluation Report   ORTOP completed an evaluation report to measure the ways FIRST impacts our youth participants.  We are committed to continuing this work into the future.  Teams are encouraged to use this tool in your work, both to prove the impact of the program and to suggest ways ORTOP can improve our approach.  Stay Connected with us!   All our lives have changed quite drastically over the past month!  As we all practice social distancing, we want to find a way to stay connected with each other.
