The robotics camp will be July 16-20 at PCC Rock Creek. 8 students will be chosen--4 for the FTC track, and 4 for the FRC track. All student teachers are expected to participate as part of the design team for, on average, 10 hours per month until the camp. They are also expected to attend and teach each day of the camp. Each student teacher will be given a $500 stipend at the end of the camp, contingent upon all conditions being met.Phone screens will happen the week of March 26th; in person interviews for those chosen will happen April 4th during FRC setup or the weekend of April 7-8 (other arrangements can be made if needed).
High school and college students of any gender are welcome to apply.

- Team members are needed to serve as Reviewers for FIRST LEGO League Jr on March 17 & 18. I need several team members for each expo. Volunteers can sign up for one 4-hour shift or all day! Team members will be trained as reviewers on site just prior to the expo, so it is very important to be on time. This is a great way to inspire future engineers! This year's theme is AQUA ADVENTURE, so reviewers will get to see lots of creative ideas about human water use. To sign up, please use this form, or sign up through the FIRST volunteer system. Teens are needed for events at Umpqua Community College on May 19, and The Dalles Readiness Center on May 19th as well.
- Help/Demonstration at Girl Fest on March 24. I am looking for volunteers who can help engage young girls with robotics and engineering. Volunteers are needed to show off robots and to help students drive the ORTOP 3D robots through an obstacle course. This will take place at the Portland Convention Center from 10am to 4pm. While girls are preferred volunteers guys are welcome to volunteer as well. Please use this form to volunteer. You can volunteer as a team or as individuals!

DesignLab Portland encourages girls to choose a career in engineering. During
the half-day program, middle school students work with local SWE members
to complete hands-on engineering activities.
While the girls are busy having fun and inventing new ideas, parents
and educators learn about engineering careers, scholarships, college
admission and resources. Participants also see how engineering can
directly impact their community through presentations
by award winning high school students.
